About Missing Persons Commentary

Missing Persons Commentary is an independent publication dedicated to missing-person cases, unsolved crimes, true crime, society, and the stories surrounding them. The site was founded and is written and published by Shane Lambert, a freelance writer who has been writing independently since 2009. My work focuses on researching cases, examining publicly available information, exploring historical records, and putting together stories that can help keep attention on people and cases that might otherwise be forgotten. Of course, I am always trying to find some insight into a case that others may have overlooked.

About the Writer

I am a freelance writer and independent researcher. My educational background includes a Private Investigation diploma from ICS Canada, an Arts degree from the University of Alberta, and numerous additional courses completed through Coursera.

My Private Investigation education is part of my academic background but I am not a private investigator, law-enforcement officer, or professional investigator. I studied Private Investigation but did not pursue employment in the field. Missing Persons Commentary is an independent writing and research publication.

When I am not working under a writing contract, you will often find me working in hotels. My experience in the hospitality industry has given me a professional background outside of writing and research, while my ongoing interest in people, history, crime, and unanswered questions has continued to shape my work.

Why I Write

Every missing-person case involves real people, families, and communities. My goal is to bring attention to these stories, examine the available information, ask questions, and give readers an opportunity to learn more about cases that may have received little attention or have remained unresolved for years.

I don’t claim to have all the answers. Instead, I approach these cases as a writer and researcher, using publicly available information and clearly distinguishing documented information from my own commentary and interpretation.

Missing persons. Unsolved crimes. Investigative commentary.
