This is a fairly new case to NamUs; however, the missing person has been missing for several years. One thing I noticed with the NamUs description for this case is that the missing person is listed as missing as of February 9th, 2020. However, in the case details, it says she was last heard from on “04/09/2020,” which would commonly refer to April 9th, 2020. From the outset, I think there is a bit of work to be done clarifying her “Date of Last Contact.”
Her last-known location has been pinpointed on her NamUs profile. It points to Google Maps near South Decatur Boulevard and West University Avenue in Las Vegas. The area is viewable on Google Maps, including using street-level views from the time period when Rufina went missing.
There was a business there called K2 in March 2020 with a website at K2 Analytics. However, it’s not clear if the pin drop on Google was actually meant to drop at this precise business, as even a small misdrop would pinpoint a different one. The coordinates could be associated with multiple businesses in what looks like Oasis Business Park.
Overall, this is a mystery that is unusually dead for information. There is no news source, no Facebook post or group, or anything that I could find that was contemporaneous with her disappearance date. Everything that pops up appears to be associated with the NamUs profile. For the time being, I am setting this aside but will revisit the case in the future. In my opinion, whoever lobbied to have her case included in NamUs would do well to make any publishable details known online.
